A REAL TECHNICAL CHALLENGE TO IMPLEMENT
Creating an acoustic treatment that provides good bass control without drowning out the treble is the major challenge for each new home cinema creation. In this case, the challenge was twofold: in addition to the usual front-mounted subwoofers and the two subwoofers installed on each side wall there are in all, 11 subwoofers in this system, including two infra-bass units integrated behind the screen.
The integration and treatment of the side subwoofers, as well as the technical specifics of the room, with a significant difference between a semi-buried wall on one side and a light partition on the other, gave the team a hard time. Although the first acoustic measurements showed good results, KazCorporation had to solve various problems to ensure that the 30 channels were correctly managed by the ISP, and that bass management was optimal.
FULL DIGITAL AND VERY HIGH-QUALITY RESULTS
A natural complement to the Goldmund loudspeakers via a purely digital connection, KazCorporation naturally proposed StormAudio's ISP Evo to drive the S/PDIF-powered loudspeakers. It was also the perfect match for managing a complicated bass system. In this room with 11 subwoofers, the use of the StormAudio Expert Bass Management and its flexible bass routing was essential. With separate bass zones, each side subwoofer could support the bass from the side speakers, while the front wall subwoofers could manage the LCR bass and the LFE signals . With the bass calibrated, the subs were grouped so that a Dirac Live Room Correction calibration could be done with ease and speed to manage the remaining 19 channels (13.11.6 layout). This allowed for more time to be devoted to manual fine-tuning, ensuring the quality of detail and smoothness of the Goldmund speakers, while benefiting from true immersive sound and masterful bass management.
Both the KazCorporation team and the customer are delighted with the result!
